Chair Aerobics
Come and join Ann Lawrence for a 60 minute exercise class set to a variety of your favourite tunes including accelerated cardiovascular activity, range of motion, strength training, flexibility training. Participants may sit in a chair or stand depending on their level of comfort. You’ll be surprised at the gains you make from these ‘simple’ exercises you can do at your own pace.

Qi Gong
Join Denise Maille for this standing class. QI GONG is a holistic system of health maintenance that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation and focused intention. QI GONG is traditionally viewed as a practise to cultivate and balance qi (chi), translated as “life energy”. This is an excellent form of exercise for seniors because of its gentle and soothing nature and has proven very effective in improving balance, relieving pain, encouraging mobility and reducing stress.

Zoom Chair Aerobics
Join Jane West for a 60 minute seated exercise class via Zoom from the comfort of your home. This class is set to modern music and includes accelerated cardiovascular activity, range of motion, strength training, flexibility training. There is also opportunity for light resistance training with small weights or resistance bands. Participants may sit in a chair or stand depending on their comfort.

Chair Yoga/ Qi Gong Live or Zoom
Join Trinity Gogolin for this combination chair class. YOGA is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India and aimed to control and still the mind. QI GONG is a holistic system of health maintenance that integrates physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation and focused intention. This is an excellent form of exercise for seniors because of its gentle and soothing nature.

Ping Pong
Ping - Pong is a lively game, yet it’s playable at the pace the competitors choose. In other words, because there are so many ways to benefit from the game, it’s not necessary to go full-tilt to enjoy it. The intensity of a good Ping - Pong game can be an excellent cardiovascular workout for seniors. Stiff muscles and tight ligaments are put to work, and strengthening them will help reduce the risk for falls.

Strength and Balance
This class is geared to the moderately active, motivated senior who desires to improve or maintain their activity level and to lessen the risk of falling. It will be beneficial to those who are experiencing
mechanical chronic low back pain, pelvic weakness and instability. It will consist of a series of progressive exercises to primarily address balance and improve core stability. Postural control techniques will also be included. Exercises will be done on the mat in supine and prone positions, in standing and in movement, all in bare feet .

Somatics
Somatics is a gentle, slow movement modality that relies more on awareness of muscle tension than exercise. It is a means of bringing back voluntary control of forgotten muscles that results in improved posture, pain relief and increased freedom of movement. It is done mainly lying down so participants need to be able to get up and down from the floor. The ability to lie on one's back and tummy is needed.
